About Room

Whether you’re touching turntables for the first time or already have experience behind the decks, these private 1-on-1 lessons focus on developing the technical, musical and creative skills that turn DJs into selectors.

With decades of experience across house, electro, techno and underground dance music, Stockholm Syndrome brings a practical and deeply musical approach to DJing, helping students understand not only how to mix records, but how to use them.

Meet Your Mentor

Stockholm Syndrome is a Melbourne-based producer, DJ and event curator with over two decades of experience behind the decks.

Known for blending techno, electro, EBM and underground club sounds, he has performed across Australia and Europe while building a reputation for thoughtful programming, strong musical identity and a deep understanding of dancefloor culture.

Alongside his artist project, he is the founder of Tilt Shift, a multimedia platform showcasing local and international talent through events, livestreams and community-focused programming. He has hosted artists including Marvin & Guy, Curses, The Hacker, Tronic Youth and Timothy Clerkin, while releasing music on labels such as Ombra INT, Melomana Records, Nein Records, Controlla and Eskimo Recordings.

His lessons focus not only on how to mix records, but how to understand music, build a set, read a crowd and develop a unique artistic identity behind the decks.
